For the world, India is a go-to-destination for Ayurveda and Yoga but unfortunately India is fast losing the importance of the age–old wisdom that came from these practices.  The WHO report identifies, the fast adoption of a western lifestyle with fast food restaurants sprawling not only the metropolitan cities but also smaller towns and villages, lack of physical activity and excessive use of tobacco as leading causes for Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD), Cardio Vascular diseases (CVDs) and Cancers in India (Thakur, 2009). This week I had a profound experience. I witnessed a Healing Circle. The Healing Circle is a group session during which the power of energy is magnified by combining the participants’ energy with universal unconditional love of several practitioners in the circle. The circle is focused on healing a client by offering several different pathways on how the client can overcome physiological, psychological and spiritual challenges in their life. (more…)

How many us have suffered from IBS or some form of constipation or diarrhea at some point of time in our life? Too many, I am sure.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important at all times but it becomes significantly crucial when you aspire to bring a new life to this world. Once you have made this ever important decision you can take steps that will enhance your fertility and increase the chances of conception.

The first thing to do is to visit your local Ayurvedic Practitioner, conduct a mind-body analysis to find if there are any imbalances that need to be corrected. In Ayurveda indigestion means hyperactivity and heartburn or acidity. The very first thing you need to do is to cut out all kinds of fast food, heavy, fried, sweet and processed food. Depending on what is easily available in your kitchen, follow one of the below recommended remedies:

–       Sprinkle little salt on lemon wedge and lick it off.

–       Combine few seeds of ajwan, salt, cumin seed powder, fresh ginger and take it 2-3 times a day. (more…)
