Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic medical condition characterized by the body’s inability to properly regulate blood sugar levels. In type 1 diabetes, the body’s immune system attacks and destroys insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, necessitating insulin injections for life. Type 2 diabetes, more common, arises from the body’s inability to effectively use insulin, often managed through diet, exercise, and medication. Both types can lead to serious health complications if not managed properly, including heart disease, kidney damage, and vision loss.
